DC3C Next Step Experience (Middle School)
Prepare for the Transition to High School!
Transitioning to high school can be an exciting yet challenging time for any student, and we understand that students with disabilities may face unique considerations and concerns. Our DC3C Next Step Experience is specifically designed to support students with disabilities transitioning from middle to high school. The event will provide the information, resources, and support our students need to navigate this transition confidently.
DC3C Next Step Experience is open to students who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Section 504 Plan and attend a public charter school affiliated with the DC Special Education Cooperative (Co-op) member network. The program is designed for 8th grade students and is also open to 7th grade students who are 14 years old by the start of the program.

A: The DC3C Next Step Experience is an interactive presentation designed to help students and families explore careers, college, and community opportunities after high school. Participants learn about transition planning, workplace readiness, self-advocacy, disability services, and resources available through the District of Columbia Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). The presentation is approximately 60 minutes long and can be tailored to meet the needs of your students and school community.
A: Simply complete the interest form and a member of the DC3C team will follow up with you to discuss scheduling, logistics, and any specific topics you would like included in the presentation.
