Get ready for Your Next Step! Explore college, career, and community resources at the Next Steps Fair.​

Are your students ready for their next step? Whether they are heading to college, a training program, or straight to the workforce, DC3C Next Steps Fair ( Next Steps) has them covered! High school students with disabilities from across DC are invited to attend Next Steps to learn about various careers, local education and training opportunities, and community resources.

This year’s DC3C Next Steps Fair will be an in-person event, held at the Armour J. Blackburn University Center located on the campus of Howard University.

 
Next Steps 2022 will feature:

  • Local educational and training vendors
  • Disability support offices from local community colleges & universities
  • Community resources and representatives from DC Government agencies
  • Live demonstrations from local DJs, yoga instructors, chefs, hair stylists, and more!
  • Interactive photo booths and scavenger hunts
  • Food is provided to all attendees!
  • Door prizes include AirPods, Gift Cards, Gaming Systems, and more!

DC3C Next Steps Fair is open to District of Columbia high school students with disabilities with either an Individual Education Plans (IEP) or 504 plan. To attend, students must be affiliated with Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) as a pre-ETS referral or client.

DC3C Frequently Asked Questions

A: Any student enrolled in a DCPS or Charter HS who meets the below criteria:

  • Aged 14-26
  • Affiliated with the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) as a pre-ETS referral or client.

A: Armour J. Blackburn University Center is located on the campus of Howard University. The address is 2397 6th St NW, Washington, DC 20059. This location is Metro (Green & Yellow Lines) and Metro Bus (70 & 79 bus routes) accessible.

 

A: Students must be registered by their school. Schools can use this link to register your group.
