When you're thinking about college or education after HS, remember this education is to prepare you for a career.

Learn About Supports

Every college is different. Research the Disability Services Office available on campus, including academic accommodations, assistive technology, tutoring, mentoring, counseling, and accessible housing. Contact the office before you enroll so you understand what documentation you need and how to request accommodations. Students have important rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504.

Paying for College

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) as early as possible to determine your eligibility for grants, scholarships, work-study, and federal student loans. Be sure to explore additional scholarships offered by colleges, community organizations, and disability advocacy organizations

Explore All Your Options

There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to postsecondary education. Students with disabilities have many opportunities to continue learning after high school. Whether your goal is college, career training, an apprenticeship, or an Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) program, the key is finding the pathway that matches your strengths, interests, and future goals.
